Customer Service Representative / Deputy Clerk

Part-Time – 15–20 Hours Per Week | $18.00–$22.00 Per Hour | Potential for Full-Time

The Town of Bradley is seeking a qualified, detail-oriented, and customer-focused individual to serve as a Customer Service Representative / Deputy Clerk. This position is currently scheduled for approximately 15–20 hours per week; however, additional hours may be necessary based on the needs of the Town. The position may also be offered as full-time to the right candidate or have the opportunity to grow into a full-time position.

This position plays an important role in the daily operations of Town government and provides direct service to Bradley residents.

Position Overview

This position performs a variety of clerical, administrative, and fiscal duties related to municipal services, official Town records, municipal finance, elections, and public assistance programs. The Deputy Clerk works closely with the Town Manager/ Town Clerk/Treasurer/Registrar/Tax Collector and interacts regularly with residents, Town officials, boards and committees, and state agencies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with motor vehicle registrations, Inland Fisheries & Wildlife licenses, vital records, tax payments, and other municipal services
  • Provide professional and courteous customer service in person, by telephone, and via email
  • Respond to public inquiries and assist residents with payments, forms, and municipal procedures
  • Assist with account reconciliations, cash handling, and financial recordkeeping
  • Assist with the preparation, maintenance, and retention of official Town records
  • Update the Town website and social media accounts
  • Serve as Assistant General Assistance Administrator
  • Assist with elections and voter-related duties
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive records and information
  • Work collaboratively with Town staff, boards and committees, residents, and state agencies
  • Perform other related municipal duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional clerical, financial, customer service, or municipal experience preferred
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a timely and professional manner
  • Working knowledge of basic mathematical calculations, cash handling, and account reconciliation
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general office technology
  • Ability to learn specialized municipal software; experience with TRIO software is a plus but not required
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Dependable, professional, and comfortable working directly with the public

Additional Requirements

  • Must be a Notary Public or be able to obtain a Notary Public commission within six (6) months of employment
  • Must be willing to attend required municipal and state training
  • Must be willing to obtain additional certifications as required for assigned duties
  • Flexibility to work additional hours when necessary to meet operational needs, including during elections, tax deadlines, or other periods of increased activity

Compensation & Benefits

The wage range for this position is $19.00–$23.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.

The Town of Bradley offers a competitive benefits package. Benefits and eligibility may vary depending on whether the position is part-time or full-time.
